there's an extremely handsome* phone on that page.
and it works with Tiger.
i already have one.
so i want the other.

*the phone was somewhat disheveled-looking, though. the back cover wasn't snapped on properly, and the blue protection sticker was still on the Motorola emblem at the speaker.

you ask far too many of those, aaron.

My father is a fucking looney tune. Here i am, seconds from the ikea alarm clock in my bedroom going off, standing in the queue at the sims avenue Post Office Savings Bank, in the clothes i slept in, teeth not brushed, mouth not washed, hair not combed. All because my father ran out of money and wants me to take out four more thousand to spend on himself.

everything's kind of... dark

shit, i wish i managed to get more sleep than this. i'm hyper, but my eyes are fatigued, and-but it hurts like a mother to close them, and everything looks much darker than normal. and i can't sleep for another two hours, thereabouts.

"they"

option b.

i spent a couple of hours doing a bit of cleaning up. i'm not touching the shit in the kitchen and the living room. that and exposed-for-several-days food, i'm not going to touch. i put up half the mattresses so i could sweep the floor, and i opened all the windows and switched the air-conditioner to fan mode to ventilate, respectively, the room and the internals of the air-conditioner. my guess is that that room hasn't seen direct sunlight or had fresh air blown through it in ages.

the place's a mess. bree van de kamp would have a field day. soap scum all over the bathrooms, floors either coated with dust or sticky, every utensil and piece of cutlery in the house in the sink, dirty laundry all over the place, my father's mandarin evening papers dominating the corner of the master bedroom next to the bathroom, which doesn't have a door. and, yes, they all sleep in the master bedroom.

i have to go back to geylang tonight, because my first aunt is coming back from china tonight. i want to bring the vaccumn cleaner back with me, take it apart, see if it'd work, but i think going out and buying one'd be easier. can't be too expensive, can it? then again, i will only buy brand named goods.

i have a couple of hours. i'll just hang about, wait for one of my siblings to get home because i don't have the key, shower, and go back. why do i like it better here than at my grandfather's?

khakis

I'm still awake. Lying on a mattress, in my brother's black nike t-shirt and my khakis. Let me be the one to tell you that khakis do not make the best pyjamas. Why won't he stop snoring?

i need some sleep

my father is snoring. very loudly. i cannot sleep, as a result. and i'm balancing my PowerBook on half a lap, blogging about it.

i am not mentally sound.

mintiness.

things i've learned today:

the model UN thing is not just some minty RJC thing. it's a very minty worldwide thing. wow.

my siblings at chuan park are living in squalor. i don't know whether i want to sit down and cry, spend the week here cleaning up, or suddenly have a wave of human emotion and move back here to be with my family. so i decide on none of them. the last one was more than a little unlikely anyway.

the first season of The O.C. was much, much, better than the current, soon-to-be-ending one.

there are few good things in my life.

living at geylang with my grandfather might be better in many, many ways, but here i can live guilt-free, have the air-conditioner be still on when i wake up instead of it having been shut off at six am, and there's actual water pressure.

more than ever, i feel like i don't really belong. anywhere.

and.. i'm out. i am tired, and i can no longer think and type without enough light falling on my keyboard.

flea day

i've just discovered that:

someone i don't know personally went to a flea market that someone i know personally went to as well, but didn't ask me to.

and that that someone i don't know personally bought an Apples In Stereo record there. the only Apples In Stereo record i've bought is the only one i've managed to find. and i only bought it because it was one christmas sale, for twenty-eight dollars. it's now selling for forty-three. and michelle bought her copy of "A Discovery Of A World Inside The Moone" for FOUR DOLLARS.

royston.

"Everybody go

The party's over
I wanna be alone in my head, in my bed, tonight
You never show

You must really love her
You think I don't know, but I do, yeah it's true
I think, over is over

I'm right back where I started
(When it comes to wanting you)

I can't have what I wanted
(When it comes to wanting you)

But I did, I can, I was, I am
Only human, living, dying
Just like any fool who ever breathed

If love is blind, if love's a drug
It always is, it always was, and
Love was surely made for fools like me

I know where I'm going
I'm tripping, I'm sliding around, that's ok
At least I'm excited

It wasn't how I planned it
(Wasn't how I planned it, feet are where I landed, least I understand it now)

My feet are where I landed
(Feet are staying on the ground)

But I did, I can, I was, I am
Only human, living, dying
Just like any fool who ever breathed

If love is blind, if love's a drug
It always is, it always was, and
Love was surely made for fools like me

Fools like me
(Fools like me)

I did, I can, I was, I am
Only human, living, dying
Just like any fool who ever breathed

Maybe it's the sanest thing
Or just the sweetest kind of dream
But love was surely made for fools
(Love was surely made for fools)

Love was surely made for fools
(Love was surely made for fools)

Love was surely made for fools like me"

The Office - An American Workspace

taken from The Office 0104 "The Alliance"

[conference room. PHYLLIS, ANGELA and PAMELA are planning MEREDITH's surprise birthday party]

PHYLLIS: Well, uh, for decorations maybe we could... It's stupid, forget it.

ANGELA: What?

PHYLLIS: Oh, I was just going to say 'Maybe we could have streamers' but it's dumb, everybody has streamers. Nevermind.

ANGELA: No, yeah, I think that's a good idea. What color do you guys think?

PHYLLIS: Well, there's green, uh, blue, yellow, red...

PAMELA: [cutting in] How about green?

ANGELA: I think green is kind of whore-ish.

[cut to PAMELA solo interview]

PAMELA: This was tough. I suggested we flip a coin, but Angela said she doesn't like to gamble. Of course by saying that, she was gambling that I wouldn't smack her.

iBanking on your iBook.

DBS iBanking

iBanking. Apple-ish, no?

yes. even on the front page, there's a trendy gym-dressed woman in loft apartment, sitting indian-style on her pine floor, trackpad-ing away happily at her iBook.

but i bet you, SHE'S SURE AS HELL NOT BANKING ONLINE WITH DBS.

why? because it simply does not work, except on Safari, where it appears to freeze the browser for an age, and then finally loads. on Firefox, Camino, Netscape and even Internet Explorer, it appears to load properly, but tells you to wait for the applet to load when you try to submit your User ID and PIN... FOREVER. NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU WAIT AND HOW MANY TIMES YOU TRY TO SUBMIT.

or maybe iBanking only works on iBooks. my PowerBook? no banana.

welcome to the cutting age. and yay for internet banking.

Fucking bored.

stream-of-consiousness update

i seem to have inherited the stream-of-consiousness style of blogging. must do better. anyway, last night? one of the dreams i had? was me waking up, checking my RAZR's charge level, for some reason opening the back cover to check the batteries, and finding DOUBLE A BATTERIES installed in it.

freaky.

short-lived weather update

it didn't last long enough. she's not wet, she was kept from coming back, but it's far too soon.

weather-related update

i wish i knew it was going to rain. i would have headed out, if only because i wanted an excuse to wear my black pinstriped Topman blazer out again. now i can only hope for similar weather tomorrow.

weather update

okay it's pouring like crazy now, which makes excellent weather.

as a bonus this might mean my crazy-wheelchair-bitch aunt being kept from coming back from her acupuncture therapy a little longer.

or! it could mean she was caught and drenched in the rain!

though if she turns up dry as a bone now i'm going to be kicking something.

The West Wing 0518 "Access"

i'm watching The West Wing now, and i am loving it. i've always liked C.J.'s job and what it involved and how she does it, but this episode [a mock-documentary--no, not a mockumentary--about her job, within an epsiode of The West Wing] gives it really, something else.

am i weird for enjoying a fictional tv documentary about a ficitonal press secretary of a fictional administration of a ficitonal TV series so much?

an iPod without music on it is... utterly useless

i was just about to go to bed and fall asleep listening to my iPod. then i realized that it's full of joyce's data.

i'm calling it a night

joyce's PowerBook is still stumping me. but i have a feeling it's a RAM issue. shall test tomorrow. too bad i've already [backed up and] erased her hard disk.

was continuing to transfer my old blog's archives as i waiting for the PowerBook to try and install Mac OS X. i've stopped at this entry, for now. it's the one where i detail what happened when my grandmother [wife of the grandfather i'm staying with now] pass away in 1995.

Tuesday, April 5

desperate houseguy

i'm definitely getting old, tired and lazy. i just bought a stack of 100 CD-Rs, even though i would much rather two seperate 50s, for easier organization. it was just because i bought them at the same store as i bought the Epson laser printer. they didn't have 50s or, as it would transpire later, a power cable, documentation or software to go with the printer, either.

end of shift

see, this is why i cannot be a poor person. i originally flipped open my Motorola to blog with, even though i could do it here on my PowerBook, because i was too tired/lazy to put on my glasses, drag my PowerBook back next to me and un-dim the screen.

it's past three AM. i'm just done checking on my grandpa for the last time until i wake tomorrow. he fever hasn't gone down, it in fact may have actually gone up. the silly oral/axillary/unmentionable-use thermometer is not confidence-insipiring in its usage, and we don't [yet-i'm working on it] have one of those in-ear thermometers, so i don't know for sure, but the feeling's there. definitely taking him to a doctor tomorrow.

grey's anatomy

my grandfather's been having a fever since this morning, and we decided he doesn't need the usual added discomfort of the safety vest tonight, so i'm on first shift. i have the pilot of Grey's Anatomy lined up now, while i wait for Desperate Housewives and the second episode of Grey's Anatomy.

Monday, April 4

how could i forget this?

i was watching Miss Congeniality yesterday, and in the spots for News 5 Tonight that aired before the movie resumed the Christine-i-don't-know-and-can't-seem-to-find-her-surname newscaster [long hair, scarily sunken cheeks] went:

On News 5 Tonight, Pope John Paul II DIES!

it just had enough of that oh-so-right tone, with relish and emphasis, coupled with that half newscaster-smile/smirk that had me cracking up.

perhaps it was the fact that it was in the middle of a comdedic film, and that i don't like him very much, if at all. it was funny. i guess you had to be me, which would be a feat, since i've heard reports that i'm not very human, if at all.

anyhoo, i now see her in a different light. she now has cheekbones to die for, instead of scarily sunken cheeks.

is it really all that popular, still?

off a site, the name and URL of which i will not disclose for several reasons:

ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE O.C. DID NOT AIR THIS WEEK. PLEASE CHECK BACK NEXT WEEK.

NOTE: The Lost repack fixes the audio problem found in the original LOL release. BOTH the original and the repack have video issues near the end of the file. These issues DO NOT make the episode unwatchable. PLEASE do not comment on the Lost issues in the channel, or ask for a proper.

Our trackers are extremely busy and torrents may take some time to connect. Please be patient. Please DO NOT hammer the manual announces on your clients. Please feed the animals, they need love too (said love should not be administered rectally).

is it, really? so much so that it rivals "Lost"?

backhanded slaps

at the final boardroom scene of The Apprentice, which i was watching on Channel 5 just now, Ivanna was asked about Chris. she responded that, well, he was good at identifying problems--which means that he complains a lot. to which, Donald Trump responded that she had the best backhanded slaps he has ever seen... and why was she constantly in the boardroom?

delicious. i should actually start watching it.

fuck it

my beloved father's birthday is in two days.

bugger it

i forgot to download the older selection of music off this site which gives away a selection of music once every two weeks month blue moon, and they've suddenly decided to remove it. i scrambled to download the newest selection, because it's a little stale and if they replace it they won't be there anymore as the previous selection, even though i've yet to stop listening to "Wedding Bell Blues".

bugger it. i feel incomplete without those older tracks. i remember being vaguely interested in one of them.

after waiting for so long...

finally, the old man's gone.

no! what the hell kind of person do you think i am? i'm not talking about my grandfather, you idiot. i'm talking about someone else.

wedding bell blues

as of now, i have listened to this song over a hundred times, excluding in the episode itself. and yet all i want to do is listen to it even more times.

"Wedding Bell Blues"
The 5th Dimension
The Age Of Aquarius
as heard on Gilmore Girls, season five, episode thirteen, "Wedding Bell Blues", the one hundredth episode of Gilmore Girls

"Bill, I love you so, I always will
I look at you and see the passion eyes of May
Oh, but am I ever gonna see my wedding day

I was on your side Bill when you were losin'
I'd never scheme or lie Bill, there's been no foolin'
But kisses and love won't carry me 'til you marry me, Bill

I love you so, I always will
And in your voice I hear a choir of carousels
Oh, but am I ever gonna hear my wedding bells

I was the one who came runnin' when you were lonely
I haven't lived one day not lovin' you only
But kisses and love won't carry me 'til you marry me, Bill

I love you so, I always will
And though devotion rules my heart, I take no bows
Oh, but Bill you are never gonna take those wedding vows

Oh, come on, Bill
Oh, come on, Bill
Come on and marry me, Bill

I got the wedding bell blues
Please marry me, Bill
I got the wedding bell blues

Wedding bell blues
Marry me, Bill
I got the wedding bell blues"
